Parkgate Farm (Purton)
The Hills waste management centre at Purton, near Swindon, is a landfill and hazardous landfill as well as a waste collection and
skip / container hire depot. The site is an important regional facility for disposal of hazardous waste. Wastes handled include contaminated soils from sites that are being re-developed as a means of minimising the call on greenfield sites. The clay extracted to create landfill void space is itself a valuable mineral.
