The site is open for local businesses to dispose of waste which will be recycled where possible.
Lower Compton (Calne)
The Hills waste management centre at Lower Compton on the outskirts of Calne incorporate a range of collection, disposal and recycling operations. The site is the hub for Wiltshire’s recycling and resource recovery campaign and includes a large materials recycling facility (MRF) and composting facility. Underpinning all the other activities is a non-hazardous landfill operation serving a wide area of Wiltshire. Void space is created by extraction of silica sand.
