Our Resource Recovery Centre at Purton, near Swindon is a landfill and hazardous landfill but also includes a household recycling centre.
Our waste and recycling operations at Purton
play an important strategic role for Wiltshire.
Activities focused on one large site include
landfill, a household recycling centre and depot
from which skip recycling services are operated.
The site also provides an important regional facility for the disposal of hazardous
waste, most of which comes from Wiltshire itself. If you dispose of a television,
personal computer or fluorescent light fittings, they may well come to our hazardous
waste landfill. Other wastes handled include contaminated soils from sites that
are being re-developed as a means of minimising the call on greenfield sites.

We have initiated a community liaison committee for the site which includes representatives from Purton Parish Council, Wiltshire County Council, North Wiltshire District Council, Braydon Parish Meeting and Ps & Qs. You can read liaison committee minutes here.
