Hills Quarry Products has received approval from Oxfordshire County Council for the installation and use of a concrete batching plant at Upwood Quarry. The approval was granted under a Town & Country Planning (General Permitted Development) Order 1995 Class B Part 19 and was not subject to public consultation.
The approval allows for the erection, storage, treatment, conveying and handling plant to process Upwood Quarry’s indigenous stone and sand and prepare it for sale as ready-mixed concrete. The plant will mix measured batches of the quarried materials, together with cement and water, and feed them into mobile truckmixers to produce concrete for building and construction operations in the general Oxford, Abingdon and Wantage areas and the rural area and villages between.
