Hills Waste Solutions is to open a new green waste composting operation at Parkgate Farm, Purton. The move, which is to coincide with Wiltshire Council’s new green waste collection service, is likely to be operational some time during Spring 2012.
Initially the site will receive garden waste from the north of the County and will allow the Company to manage the increased tonnages of garden waste expected to be generated by Wiltshire Council’s new collections.
Planning permission for a composting at Parkgate Farm was granted in November 2007. With the harmonisation of waste services by Wiltshire Council across the county, Hills has had to make some changes to its operations and one of these is to provide additional composting capacity.
